Pui Pui

The central objective of the place is to protect the river basin of the Tulumayo, Huatziroki, Pichanaki and Ipoki rivers that begin in the Pui Pui Mountain Range; in that way preserve the water supply for the use of the community and agricultural areas. Therefore, it is important to take care of this space, as it is a water source for communities and forests to protect the area.

Surrounding the Bocatoma of the New Imperial Canal

It is located 150 km. south of Lima, it is in the desert zone in the province of Cañete. Surrounding is a small forest, it is part of Lima’s protected areas.

In the place stand out 40 species of birds; among them migratory birds, such as the black duck. Likewise, the red-headed hen, Peruvian carpenter, tortoise, black-headed goldfinch, cuniculi, orchid-tailed hummingbird, retriever hawk, Peruvian fio fio, black thrush and more.

In the place, there are eight species of mammals, such as the coastal fox, much and many more. Also five species of reptiles, diverse fish such as silversides, catfish, smooth and others. There are also crustaceans.

On the other hand, there is a wonderful flora, still to be discovered in many aspects. However, much of this area is at risk; since it is not protected in many aspects.

At present, the Bocatoma del Canal provides water to 15 communities and irrigates more than 8,000 hectares of agricultural land. It is important to keep the place.

Puquio Santa Rosa

The Puquio Santa Rosa Protection Forest is located in the Virú district, Trujillo province in the department of La Libertad. The site aims to protect road infrastructure and soils, maintain agricultural land and protect migratory birds.

San Matias – San Carlos

The San Matías forest is located in the districts of Palcazú, Puerto Bermúdez and Villa Rica in the province of Oxapampa in the department of Pasco. The forest protects the upper basin of the Pitches and Palcazu rivers.

The place seeks to conserve natural forests and wildlife. It also protects the road infrastructure, communities, and agricultural land. The main objective is to guarantee the water supply for human consumption and agriculture. It also serves as a regulatory factor for the area’s climate and serves as a boundary between land and rivers.
